One day back in 1975, I was talking with my dad about some of my concerns about this life. It seemed to me that we as Black people were getting the short end of the stick, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. All my dad would say to my every concern was, God is almighty, and I have nothing to worry about because God can do anything. So I got up from the table mad and disgusted with my dad's answer. As I was leaving the kitchen, my mom met me in the doorway. She asked me three questions. She asked me. Whose world is this? I answered God's. Whose problems are those that you brought to your dad? I answered God's. Then she asked me, and whose job is it to solve those problems? I responded yet again, God. Then she handed me the book in her hand entitled, Come Unto Me. She told me to go upstairs and read it, and I did, and that day I gave my life to Christ. I wrote this book with that book in mind. Someone had painstakingly taken passages from all four of the gospels and created a book designed to tell the story of Jesus Christ. And that is what I have done with this book.
