My First Encounter: A Vision of Peace
It happened in the steam-filled sanctuary of my bathroom, moments after the world had shattered around me. As I gazed into the fogged mirror, something extraordinary unfolded. The mist cleared in a perfect circle on the right side, revealing the profile of a man's head. Inch by inch, the vapor dissipated only there, until a full visage emerged: shoulder-length light-brown hair, parted neatly down the middle without bangs, framing a face of profound serenity.
I locked eyes with Him-those piercing light-blue eyes that drew me in like an endless ocean of compassion. In that gaze, I tumbled forward, enveloped in safety. No words were spoken, yet a message resonated deep in my soul: Everything is going to be alright. A wave of warmth cascaded over me-His gentle peace, His boundless grace-wrapping me like a protective embrace. Then, as mysteriously as He had appeared, He vanished, leaving an indelible imprint on my heart.
Later, sharing this with Fr. Tierney, he handed me a wrapped gift. Inside was a framed painting of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. "That's Him," Fr. Tierney said, his voice steady with recognition. He explained that my description- "I fell into His eyes and felt the warmth of His gentle peace and grace"-echoed experiences shared by others over the years. They, too, had fallen into those same eyes, emerging transformed.
