While we agree on many important doctrines, including the teachings of the Apostles' Creed, and while we can cooperate in many ways without agreeing on everything, there are important differences to analyze: How are we saved? What is the role of good works? What is the importance of baptism, other sacraments, the papacy, and the Church? What should we believe about the Virgin Mary and the saints? How about penance?

If you are a Protestant, hopefully this book will challenge you to understand Catholicism better. I believe we Protestants tend to over-simplify their doctrine. If you are a Catholic, I trust that this book will help you understand Protestantism better, especially what we believe about salvation and the relationship between faith and good works.
