Descending to watery depths, pressure builds and sunlight dissipates. Gia now finds herself in a facility buried beneath immense pressure, a world of towering cliffs, tight cave squeezes, and volcanic heat. As she and the crew navigate its many dangers, they discover that the natural walls of the Trovant are home to humans and animals that grow to unnatural sizes. The refugees from Trellis must adapt to a new culture, a new way of thinking, and a new way of surviving. But as the Trovant's walls strain under crushing pressure, Gia begins to wonder- if the world around her is on the verge of collapse, how much of what she believed about Alaster will collapse with it?
