This story is about the colorful butterfly and new beginnings. Each spring, the harbinger of summer is observed in the lowly caterpillar, and then suddenly the summer kaleidoscope is manifest with the appearance of the butterfly. Their unpredictable flight patterns and singularity of purpose best personify the curiosity that they pique in our souls.

Their flashes of color across the garden landscape and striking patterns of design enhance their allure. Their arrival on the summer scene is always a welcome sight to gardeners and casual observers alike. With every summer season, these beautiful creatures transform themselves from the crawly caterpillar into the beautiful butterfly. This is the fifth book in the LIVING series and addresses the topic of transformational new beginnings.

Our Creator oversees every aspect of the creation; and we, as creations of the Father, are subject to the processes He declared in the beginning. The caterpillar lives its life hardly noticed until, at some predetermined point on the biological clock, it is time to build the cocoon and begin the transformation.

Our lives parallel this type of change. Similar to the change when the butterfly emerges into this new existence, we, too, see our world from a new point of view. The newly formed butterfly is now able to fly and no longer crawls along the surface, living a life of mediocrity. Now with wings to fly, the landscape is available to be fully experienced.

With God's favor and our right standing, we also have limitless possibilities for our lives. Similar to the butterfly, we now have the strength and God-given ability to spiritually conquer gravity and float effortlessly across the landscape as we saunter in the beautiful garden of life. The butterfly is symbolic of what we can accomplish with God's favor and will for our lives.
