Will Sammy's journey home take him back to his birth family, or will he find he belongs with his latest foster family?

Sammy has never known anyone he could trust, and his broken past makes it hard for him to open up to the people who are trying to help him. His summer is filled with many firsts: a new foster home, a new school, new friends, new enemies, and his first chance to join a baseball team. At the same time, his world seems to be falling apart around him. Sammy is faced with a choice: to live the life he's always known-pushing others away because of his secret fear of another rejection-or to begin to embrace the faith and friendship he is finding in this new town.
