The best teacher is always a learner who has mined the motherlode of God's word, in contrast to those who are content with accepting the tailings provided by others. The best learners are those with a passion for truth that sends them searching for nuggets of truth at a minimum. Bible students are discovery learners, not consumers of prepackaged pablum.In searching for gold in the Scriptures, we do not read a passage and then choose a meaning that best suits our conception of religious truth. If we do, we find fool's gold.
