• SCRIPTURE FIRST - The goal of studying Scripture is to let Scripture speak. We all need to be careful what we bring into our study (our culture, our preconceptions, our bias). The process of exegesis is controlled enough for us to allow Scripture to speak on its own. Exegesis deals in the original historical context, the literary context, and the theological meaning within the text itself.
• AN UNBIASED STUDY GUIDE - The goal of this specific workbook is to provide an unbiased framework for exegesis of the biblical text. Throughout the workbook, you'll work through each book of the Bible, passage-by-passage, looking at the cultural context, literary context, and genre. You'll trace the outline of each book, follow the flow of argument, and connect repeated words and phrases. But, I've kept the study guide free of bias and tradition to allow Scripture to speak on it's own.
• SIMPLE FORMAT - I kept these guides super simple and minimal. There's enough of a template and framework in each passage to give you the bones to build off of, but the books require you to do some serious study. You can forge a path on your own with just Scripture. You can consult commentaries and resources. You can use your study guide to follow along expositionaly with your pastor or a podcast. But, this book will require you to put in some work to get the most out of it.

This book covers James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Jude, both with book overviews and individual passages. Resources are included in the back to aid in your research and study.
