Steps to Freedom in Christ

At the heart of the Alpha course is the 'Holy Spirit' weekend. The 'Steps' weekend is the equivalent in the Freedom in Christ course. The seven Steps, usually undertaken in the company of a leader or Christian friend, are designed to go deep into the soul and to get rid of the spiritual baggage that holds you back - the condemning thoughts, the patterns of wrong behaviour, the spiritual struggles, the sense of hopelessness. The Steps are often used by more mature Christians as a regular spiritual health check. Steve Goss, UK leader of FiC, makes a point of doing them personally every six months. In essence, they are a process of renouncing ungodly patterns of thought and embracing the full freedom in Christ which is every believer's birthright.
