Today, we often throw around the word 'promise' just as superficially as we might the word 'hope' and, in effect, these words have been watered down from their real meaning and weight. God's promise is sure; as is the hope we can have in believing He will fulfil His promises.

Faced with the challenge of false teaching, Peter seeks to encourage his friends to keep growing and developing in their love and knowledge of Jesus. He tells them to wait patiently and confidently in the assurance that God's promises will be fulfilled. Whatever our challenges are today, we too can find encouragement and hope to keep boldly on with our journey of faith.
