The SCM Theological Commentary on the Bible uses leading theologians to interpret the scriptures in light of church tradition, just like the patristic fathers, the Reformers, and other orthodox Christians, relating their interpretations to their time and place. This is designed like the others in the series this is aimed at those serving the church – preaching, teaching, study groups, for example, and continuing the intellectual theological interpretation of the bible.

In short this commentary demonstrates the continuing intellectual and practical viability of theological interpretation of the Bible. This commentary is intended for the clergy as well as academics and students to provide guidance in reading the Bible under the rule of faith.
