In the brother stories of Genesis, many of the same words and phrases reverberate throughout. These shared words provide links to the intertextual relationships between all these sibling narratives. Ani Yoseph is not just the climax of the Joseph saga: it is also a prelude to the future. At the end of history, God will reveal Himself again to His people and declare to all the nations of the world: Ani Hashem, I am the LORD.

Commenting on Ani Yoseph, the Chofetz Chaim wrote: So, too, will it be in the Time to Come when the Holy One, Blessed be He, will reveal Himself and announce, Ani Hashem, I am the LORD! The mask will roll off of our eyes, and we will fully comprehend everything that transpired throughout history.
