Second Timothy, a tender letter to Paul's "beloved child in Christ," is often called Paul's swan song epistle as he knew the time of his execution was near and his life was being poured out like a drink offering (4:6). He admonishes Timothy to hold onto the sound teaching he has received from the apostle and pass it on to others to continue teaching.
