They provide a great body of evidence.

Do they prove that Jesus is the Messiah?

They most certainly do. The details they provide about the life of Christ leave no room for doubt that Jesus is the Messiah.

This gives great Joy because Jesus as that Messiah can bring salvation to the world through the fulfillment of the law and the prophesies, allowing Him to set up the final covenant that not only brings saving grace but the final gift of oneness with Christ.
