A prophet is God's spokesperson. He or she is a divinely called minister who announces the will of God to the people. Such a person can be called a real prophet. True prophets hear from God and convey what they hear from God to the people. The duty of a prophet, therefore, is to prophesy or utter prophesies (prophetic utterances). They may utter prophesies to predict the future, and they may report to the people what God is doing in the present. This book is Part I in this series.
