Daily devotional for married couples to read together and strengthen their relationship. So don’t buy it for singles or someone whose relationship has recently broken down. They won’t thank you.
But as a gift for the recently wed, an early years anniversary present or hint to your spouse that you want to spend more time reading the Bible together, it fits the bill. Cover and opening sheets are high quality (other pages less so) with presentation and family record pages for both births and adoptions – though the quote from Psalms describing children as “...a reward from Him” might not be a comfort to couples struggling to achieve either.
Devotions are day marked, but not date marked and relevant mostly to conventional, married couples with kids. Text is the lively and conversational NLT with useful topical index; which makes it a good gift for new to faith and no-faith-yet couples. Devotions are all indexed too, though unfortunately not by theme. Each invite self assessment of your marriage though if you really had a problem, I think you’d find the solutions a bit superficial, though biblically sound. Even so, to be reading its pages together has to be a step in the right direction.
