Helping Half a Million Readers Every Day

Every Day with Jesus has been a staple componant of many people's daily walk with God. Now with 500,000 people reading it each issue it's had an incredible impact on the spiritual lives of people all over the world.

A Bit of History…

Selwyn Hughes

Born on the 27th of April 1928 in a small town near Caerphilly, Wales, Selwyn Hughes began his working career as a miner but then left the soot and darkness behind to follow his calling and study theology in Bristol. At this stage no one would have known that this path into Christian ministry was just the starting point for this influential man’s life. After completing his studies and becoming ordained he went on to work in several Welsh and English churches for the next 18 years.

What started in the 1960s as a simple way to encourage and grow his congregation with short daily Bible reading notes has gone on to become the now world-renowned daily devotional Every Day with Jesus. In 1965 Selwyn Hughes established Crusade for World Revival commonly known as CWR and began printing the devotional that is now read by half a million people an issue!

A simple and accessible format has always been the key to this well-loved daily reading aid. Alongside the wisdom and encouragement from the pastoral heart of Selwyn Hughes it’s pretty certain that this devotional will continue to grow and encourage globally.

Not only are the notes practical and relevant, with a background in psychology and counselling Selwyn Hughes writes with insight and sensitivity.

Firstly you won’t be intimidated by the size of it with a standard pocket-sized format of A6 and a large print option which comes in an A4 format if you’d like something a little bigger in print. Each issue covers 2 months, during which you will be guided through passages of Scripture and given daily encouragement and nourishment through God’s Word and Hughes’ unique reflections.

If you are keen to start a daily devotional, perhaps it’s something you considered as a New Year’s Resolution (and very quickly forgot) then why not give this a go.? Every Day with Jesus will take you on a reflective journey throughout the year and I’m sure will be both an encouragement to Christians regardless of maturity as we consider the man who we want to spend every day with.
