Want to encourage and inspire the students in your class? These ten verses, from the International Children’s Bible (ICB) are perfect for inspiring strength, confidence and hope:
1. For when you need strength, capability and help overcoming challenges:
"I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength." - Philippians 4:13
2. For when you’re looking for trust, guidance and wisdom:
"Trust the Lord with all your heart. Don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in everything you do. And he will give you success." - Proverbs 3:5-6
3. For when you’re looking for hope and purpose:
"I say this because I know what I have planned for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future." - Jeremiah 29:11
4. For when you need reminding to be kind and make a positive impact:
“...you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do. Live so that they will praise your Father in heaven" - Matthew 5:16
5. For when you need reminding of your self worth and uniqueness:
“I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well." - Psalm 139:14
6. For when you need courage and a reminder of God’s presence:
“Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don’t be afraid. The Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go” - Joshua 1:9
7. To remember that you are unique:
“Do not be shaped by this world. Instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God and what is perfect." - Romans 12:2
8. A reminder to stay diligent, keep putting effort in and find success with God’s help:
"Depend on the Lord in whatever you do. Then your plans will succeed." - Proverbs 16:3
9. A reminder to work hard and focus:
“In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for men. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which he promised to his people. You are serving the Lord Christ." - Colossians 3:23-24
10. For when you need comfort and help:
"God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble.." - Psalm 46:1
