This Section of the Didactics extends the Trinity of God initiated in Section Four, now turning to the Hypostasis of the Son. Its principal themes include the Humanity of Christ, the Divinity of Christ, the Kenosis of Christ, the Incarnation of Christ, Christ and Creation, and Christ as the proper object of Worship. The Section presents a multilayered and architectonically dense Christology requiring attentive reading. In treating the Kenosis of Christ, the classical account-here designated concealmentism-holds that the Son emptied Himself by concealing or veiling divine prerogatives, appearing as Man for the consummation of the divine economy. The NeoReformed articulation rejects concealment, affirming that the Son remains eternally and immutably divine, omnipotent, and omniscient even in the flesh. His selfemptying is therefore an emptying by addition-an additive kenosis-wherein He assumes human flesh and subsists forever in the hypostatic union as truly divine and truly human. Concerning the Incarnation, this Section esteems the classical doctrine for its profound reverence toward the unity of Christ's two natures, yet it also subjects the tradition to critical scrutiny. Classical Christology frequently grounds the Incarnation in the exigencies of sin and redemption, as though the Son assumed human nature solely to rectify the fall. The NeoReformed account instead contends that neither sin nor the specter of eternal damnation governs the Incarnation. Rather, the Incarnation is superintended by the eternal divine decree of hypostatic union itself-an antecedent and primordial intention of God, established before the foundations of the world, whereby humanity was always destined for participation in the eternal bliss of the Godhead. In this view, the Incarnation is not a remedial intervention but the eternal telos of creation, the divine intention that humanity should be forever united to God through the Son.
