Meditations in the Body explores the story of Jesus.
There are six sessions, each concentrating on a different aspect of the story: Jesus in the desert (temptation and distraction); Jesus on a boat (coping with fear); Jesus journeys into Jerusalem (triumph over doubt and confusion); Jesus in a garden (overcoming despair); Jesus in captivity (an end to guilt); freedom and hope (a second chance).
A summary forms a personal and collective response to the previous six sessions and is done partly as homework and partly as a seventh session with a social focus.
Group participation is encouraged in a number of ways, including discussion, researching background knowledge and prayer.
The material is imaginative, sometimes humorous, but also scripturally based and challenging, encouraging each member of the group to seek prayerfully what God is saying to them through scripture.
