A Painful GiftMary Bartholomew, via The Good Book Stall
The author of this very moving little book did not discover the reason for his lifetime of difficulties till he was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. He had known since childhood that he was Autistic but this further diagnosis freed him to be himself and increased the understanding of his family and friends. He tells the story of his life in a way that helps us to at least try to imagine what it must feel like to live with a level of stress which almost led him to suicide. That he has now been able to channel his gifts into helping others is wonderful. A very worthwhile read.
A comprehensive list of contacts at the back of the book will enable others to find help.
