Metaphors are of particular significance for Christ's discourse in the New Testament and in the history of theology. The present studies examine the forms and functions of meta-phorical Christology in the New Testament, Christ metaphors in late classical antiquity, in Tauler's mysticism, in Luther's writings, or in the 19th century.
