Becoming a Contagious Church
At a time when those of us who attend small churches are seeking to find ways to reach out into our communities and give a message that is relevant to those who have grown up without the background of faith, this book promised to outline ideas for some ways forward. And certainly the first half of the book did this with enthusiasm and radical suggestions. It is a revision of a previous book entitled Building a Contagious Churchand is giving an encouragement to us to live the evangelistic lifestyle and for this to be transferred to our churches so that all church members can also pick up this vision. The concepts discussed are transferrable and the author gives a structured ‘plan’. What I found difficult by the middle of the book was the references to previous works he had written. There is no doubt, however that he communicates his passion for knowing Christ and making Christ known, firstly as an individual and then as part of a community of Christ through means that suit each fellowship that has the desire to be creative and longs to meet the needs of the community in which it is situated.
