Women of Old Who Prayed reintroduces some of the women whose prayer became scripture. It is intended to correct wrong perceptions and beliefs that there is something extraordinary about the women of the Bible. It is also a book for women who do not truly understand the true backgrounds and circumstances of their Biblical counterparts. Finally, it is written for the contemporary woman who desires to model her lives after the women of old so as to also experience the power and presence of God.
It explores the family backgrounds and histories of these women, the peculiar challenges or problems that drove them to seek God through prayer, how God came through for them and the lessons that all of these hold for today's woman. It is hoped that this understanding would help women appreciate their relationships with God, and the opportunity they have to speak to Him as Father by means of prayer.
