    Product Description

Is there only one way to come to know Jesus - one model for conversion? This volume addresses the modern problems of "conversion" through a careful, sociologically informed examination of conversion in the Gospels. Popular models of conversion today are based on three different versions: socialization (growth of faith), liturgical (ushered in by ceremonies such as baptism or confirmation), or personal (people are not converted until they make a personal decision). This study suggests that elements of all three models are present within the Gospel accounts and that an informed and enhanced reading of the Gospels should prompt appreciation of different approaches in the Church today.
