Wisdom of the Proverbs Explained

The book of Proverbs covers a wide range of topics including youth and discipline; family life; self-control and resisting temptation; business matters; words and the tongue; knowing God; marriage; seeking the truth; wealth and poverty; honor; pride and arrogance; and, of course, wisdom. The Proverbs are riddles and parables outlining common-sensical life skills that youth have not yet experienced.

The purpose of this book is to make Proverbs less intimidating and more understandable. New readers sometimes get frustrated because they cannot understand the verbiage and parables and stop reading. My intention is to explain the proverbs in today's terminology so that everyone can read and understand them without feeling intimidated.

While the world has changed a lot since Proverbs was written in 700 BC, many things remain the same. Heed the experience and wisdom from these wise men. Learn from their mistakes and not your own, and you'll be many steps ahead in life because of it. Every mother and father should read this book to their children and grandchildren. And for those adults seeking wisdom but don't know how to find it, this book is a great place to start.
