What would Jesus say? Living and loving (Rev 2:1-7) a talk by Paul Mallard
Full Product Description
The book of Revelation is not written to mystify or confuse Christians. It is a word of encouragement to struggling churches facing external attack and internal decay. In the letters, we hear the voice of Jesus speaking to churches, their leaders and to individual Christians. They are a call for Christ-centred renewal which we all need to hear. They deal with some of the central issues of Christian spirituality, such as transparency, truth, holiness, mission and spiritual passion. As we study them, we will often be surprised at what Jesus has to say. They point forward to the ultimate spiritual renewal for those who overcome.
The letters are also an introduction to the whole book of Revelation. Like an overture, they raise themes to which the Lord returns later in the book. Above everything, they are a revelation of the glory of the Lamb. The route to renewal is through a more passionate engagement with the Saviour, through the Spirit, for the glory of God. They really are first century messages for twenty-first century Christians. Session 1/5
