"Darrell Tunningley's story of transformation from armed robber to church minister is inspiring. Following a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ in his prison cell, Darrell at once began to be used by God to bring transformation to others. This is a fascinating book and I hope that thousands of people will find hope and meaning in their lives through reading it." - Reverend Nicky Gumbel, Holy Trinity Brompton
'This thoroughly honest, authentic and inspiring book tells a death-to-life story that powerfully demonstrates that no one is beyond the love of God. For all of us who question the value, meaning and purpose of our lives, Darrell's story brings great encouragement and enduring hope. Lost in a world of drugs and violence, God broke into his life in prison and changed everything. His testimony invites each of us to demonstrate the saving love of Jesus by following him unreservedly, wholeheartedly, 24/7. Only in this way, as Darrell has found, do we learn to live life to the fullest.' - Matthew Frost, Chief Executive of Tearfund
'Unreachable is an amazing story of how a young man, whilst an addict to drugs and serving a entence for armed robbery had an encounter with God. Darrell, after attending an Alpha course and becoming a Christian, had his life turned upside down. Now part of the senior leadership at Hope Corner Community Church, Darrell has dedicated his life to showing and sharing the love of Christ in his community by bringing hope to the marginalised, the vulnerable and the lost. His story of redemption brings hope and life to the young people he is working with. He is able to speak into their lives as he has been where they have been. Encouraging yet challenging, this remarkable story of God's Love shows that it is never too late to change the direction of your life.' - Reverend Paul Cowley, Executive Director of Caring for Ex -Offenders and the William Wilberforce Trust

‘One man’s journey through Drugs, Violence, Armed Robbery and a miraculous encounter with God in prison.’ so says the cover of this book, and indeed it is!
This is not the first book I have read, about a young man seemingly getting deeper and deeper into crime and every sort of wrongdoing, only to have God step in and change things around. Every time I am left feeling exillerated that our God is so great.
Darrell started with petty crime at a very young age, nine or ten, it was so easy to do and the trouble he got into didn’t stop him getting better and better at stealing whatever he fancied. Smoking to show off to his friends had become drug taking but despite this, he finished school with enough results to get on a sports course at the college of his choice. He was playing Rugby at a professional level and thought he had his life all planned out. Sport and drugs, however, do not go together, injury and a missed drugs test proved the end of that road and looking back he recounts how a few wrong decisions and a strange desire to self-destruct would end in a prison sentence of five and a half years.
His life in prison started with proving to himself and the other prisoners that he was a tough guy, not to be messed with. He was moved from prison to prison, and ended up in HMP Wolds, a privately owned prison, and it was here he was asked if he would go on an Alpha course. The last thing he wanted was to get mixed up with ‘God’ people, but there was an afternoon out of the cell on offer, with free coffee and biscuits. Little did he know where that decision to attend, for all the wrong reasons, would lead. The first part of this book I found harrowing, as reading about a life going from bad to worse always is, but then.......
Read and be amazed and thankful.
