    Product Description

Welcome to the WHY? Course, a three-part introduction to the Catholic Faith from the Catholic Truth Society. It is a new exciting, intriguing and enjoyable way to reach adults and young people who are unfamiliar with the Catholic Faith. Today's is a world of unprecedented scientific and technological progress but for all that, people ask the same questions today as they always have: Who are we? Where do we come from? and perhaps most importantly, why are we here? The Why? Course wants to get people thinking about three particular big questions: Why God? Why Christ? And why the Church? And to show that the answer to these questions is hugely important for people today, both as individuals and as a society. With its easy to follow structure, accessible language and attractive presentation, it is an important and engaging tool to bring the Christian message of hope and love to 21st century people. All you need is this full colour course book and the accompanying DVD. The Why? Course book is a vibrant and colourfully illustrated textbook which, alongside beautiful artwork from William Blake, Georges de La Tour, Hieronymus Bosch and many others, explains how to use the materials and provides transcripts of the interviews on the DVD, questions for further reflection, answers, explanations of key words and a guide to further reading. It has been written by Fr Marcus Holden and Fr Andrew Pinsent, who authored the successful Evangelium Course, also from CTS. Each of the three sessions of the Why? Course - one on each of the three questions Why God? Why Christ? Why the Church? - lasts just one hour, including a 25-minute specially made video. It is a great chance to invite people into the Church, school, parish hall, or any other suitable space, for an hour and perhaps to allow people to chat and socialise afterwards. To show them that they have been willed by God, been saved by Him in Jesus and are being loved by His Church.'We have the certainty that the Holy Spirit gives his Church the courage to persevere and to search for new ways to evangelize,' Pope Francis 15th March 2013. The WHY? Course provides references to Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church for further reading, and is a response to the call for a new evangelisation to share the Faith in the modern world. The WHY? Course supports • initial evangelisation • refresher courses for Catholics • returning Catholics • discussion groups in parishes and schools • introductions to the faith in marriage preparation • First Communion parents • Confirmation preparation • introductions to in-depth courses, such as Evangelium. The course does not require any previous knowledge of the Catholic Faith.Want to start the Why? Course in your parish? Have a look at our Why? Course Pack.
