The Ten Silver CoinsMary Bartholomew, via The Good Book Stall
This series of books by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen were first published over twenty years ago and have given pleasure to several generations of children. It is so good that here they are again for a new generation. Jesus told the story of The Ten Silver Coins to show that just as we search for precious things and rejoice when we find them, so God searches for every one of his children and rejoices when they are found. In Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen’s telling, a woman is counting her precious coins till her cat knocks them flying and one of the coins disappears. The cat has gone to sleep on top of it! Delightfully illustrated.
