The Ten CommandmentsJohn Irvine, via The Good Book Stall
The book is subtitled Case Studies in Catholic Morality. It examines how God intended us to live as morally good people. Catholic morality involves putting one’s faith and religion into practice through making the right decisions, thus achieving the peace of a good conscience. Also, morally good people contribute to the well-being of society as a whole. There are objective God-given standards to respect and follow so that we work with God to complete His creation. We have uniquely of all God’s creatures a conscience and we have been given the ten commandments as part of God’s revelation to teach us how our lives should be led and how we should resist the inherited pull of sin and open our hearts to the grace of Christ. Each of the Ten Commandments is examined thoroughly and each evaluation is followed by three case studies which are drawn from a variety of moral dilemmas. These case studies lend themselves to discussion and debate. This is above all a practical book which will be of value to all Christians.
