The Book of Genesis DVD

Full Product Description

Eden is still in our Blood.

That's the core of this new film of the key events which begin the Bible.

That those stories are part of us, have never left us, and are key to understanding ourselves and our faith.

Told with a grand sweep and visual beauty, Genesis will carry you through the vivid lives of those at the very beginning of humanity, and their place in the world, in nature, and in God.

Genesis is narrated by Jochebed (Venus Monique, The There & Doll Boy) who tells these iconic stories to her son as they hide for their lives. The lives of Adam, Abraham, Noah, Jacob are intertwined to paint an image of man's first steps and his relationship with God.

There is something here for everyone. Whether you're a cinephile with a fondness for a sweeping beauty similar to the films of Terrence Malik, or have an love of the spectacle of nature, it is hard not to be caught up in the wonder of the film.

Genesis breathes new life into the time-worn stories while showing how important the relationship between man and God, and man and nature, is in our lives.

That the beginning of the world is still with us.

That Eden is still in our Blood.

The Book of Genesis DVD was published by Bridgestone Media in April 2016 and is our 3585th best seller. The ISBN for The Book of Genesis DVD is 9780740335242.

Product Q&A

Got a question? No problem! Just click here to ask us about The Book of Genesis DVD.

Would this be suitable for showing to children/ teenagers? Thanks. Julie

A:Hi Julie. This film should be suitable for most ages, but as I haven't yet seen it I'll include the review from The Dove Foundation, an American Christian organisation which reviews films on a content basis, looking at what they would deem suitable for faith households. As with a lot of media, it is important to look at the rating in relation to it's audience as few 12 year olds, for example, are in a similar place, and so the suitability will naturally change from child to child. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum.

Gospel accounts on DVD like Matthew, John and Luke are "word for word" from different translations of the Bible, so I wanted to know if "The Book of Genesis" was also.

A:Hi Janice, thank you for your question. The Book of Genesis DVD is not a word-for-word account of the first book of the Bible. Rather, it is a collection of stories from Genesis being told by Jochabed to her son. The key stories from Genesis are included, but not every single one. Thank you for using the Q&A Forum. Aaron.

Publisher's Description

Based on the first book of the Bible, The Book of Genesis is a sweeping and poetic look at the beginning of man's relationship with God. While Jochebed (Venus Monique) hides in a shelter to protect her infant son from being murdered, she tells him the story of her people over the course of a dangerous night.

Interweaving the stories of patriarchs like Adam, Abraham, Noah, and Jacob as if their lives were lived simultaneously, this inspiring movie explores the common thread of how those characters interacted with God and how mankind will one day return to the place where we started. However, the journey back to Eden will be filled with hardship, beauty, and a desperate need to trust the Creator.
