From the Introduction:
I began this book from a desire to share with as many people as possible the great gift of prayer, to show that it is not a complicated set of methods or exercises, but as simple as living life, being ourselves and bringing God into our daily routine. Prayer is a journey, a life-transforming encounter with God.
My purpose is to lay the broad contours of a spirituality that empowers us through grace to become 'pray-ers' - to offer a teaching on finding, and entering into, our inner core, where God dwells and we exist in our deepest truth as 'God images'. The focus of my writing is to illustrate the various components we need for life in God, drawing from tradition: scripture, the desert tradition and my own Dominican tradition.
