Full Product Description
‘Revival Culture’ is a manual for revivalists. Michael Brodeur and Banning Liebscher have witnessed a spiritual awakening at Bethel Church in Redding, California, through the Jesus Culture movement which has rippled across the globe. Now they want to encourage, inspire and release your potential, preparing you for the next Great Awakening.
This biblical and impassioned book doesn’t want to change you. It isn’t going to give you the tools for revival, or 5 easy steps or spiritual short-cuts – but it will inspire you. Talking from experience Michael and Banning have learnt that ‘revival’ isn’t an event, it’s a lifestyle. Those who want to see revival, to see transformation in their cities, towns and schools must first be transformed themselves.
‘Revival Culture’ is a unique book for the evangelists in this generation. Discover the biblical footing, the courage and the mindset to live a life of revival.

“In my book ‘Revival Culture’, my hope is to actually instill within every single believer a desire for God that will cause them to begin to think – “am I ready for what God is about to do on the earth”.
“Many people are predicting that God’s about to move in a powerful way on our planet, that upwards of a billion souls could come to Christ in the coming season. I think the question we all have to ask as the people of God is are we ready?
“Am I ready personally for God to do something of that magnitude? Are we ready in terms of our churches and congregations? And are we really prepared to receive those people, those new born babies in Christ who will come to him? Are we ready to really disciple a generation, especially a generation unlike anything we’ve ever known?”
“I think it’s time for us to get ready.”

Eden Article: History of
The term ‘awakening’ was coined by Joseph Tracey, a minister and historian. His influential book, he called ‘The Great Awakening’ documented a time of religious revival in the 1730’s and claimed it was responsible for the most famous period of American history – ‘the American Revolution’.
This religious phenomenon can be traced back to Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield. They were Protestant preachers, passionate about connecting grace with the populous. Traditional preachers would stuff their sermons with theological thought only those educated could understand. But revivalists saw through the ritual and ceremony and preach a new concept: personal commitment.
Enthusiasm and passion was their language. They had a revolutionary message and the media clout to back it up, with Benjamin Franklin and his free press paper – ‘The Gazette’ – printing sermons and reporting on the movement. But the most fascinating aspect of their revival is their impact on society. From the growth of the church came social and political reform.
This ‘Evangelical’ movement sweeping across America was challenging the politic structure and mindsets. They preached religious freedom, social equality, that everyone could be saved and that class was irrelevant it was your moral behavior that mattered. They were spear-heading an ideology that inspired the democratic revolution. They toppled injustice by preaching the gospel. They completely transformed America.
That’s what Banning and Michael are talking about. Transformation! When revival breaks out (which they claim will happen again, possibly sooner than you think) it seeps into more than just the hearts and minds of the people, but into the social structures of the times. Personal transformation, social transformation, political transformation are all in God’s grasp.
If this excites you, then ‘Revival Culture’ is a book we recommend you read. It’s not commentary (talking about history like I have) but a manual to show you how to get involved. It’s easy to stand on the side-lines and become a critic, what’s hard is swallowing your words and skepticism and diving in the revival deep end.
Banning and Michael are the real deal, they are revivalists. We can learn from what they have to say, and what they say will change your perspectives, your preconceptions and your everyday Christian life. They don’t want you to pray for revival, they you to become revivalist – to live like George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards and change our world.
