Out of the Saltshaker & Into the WorldJim Currin, via The Good Book Stall
I was really pleased to see Out of the Saltshaker & Into the World reprinted and updated. After 20 years of first reading I still remember Rebecca Manley Pippert's memorable phrase that she thought evangelism was something you wouldn’t even do to your dog. And here it is in the rework on p11. Pippert is an evangelist and gifted speaker but she knows how many see evangelism and she writes here about relationships, conversation skills, cultivating the soil and reaping the harvest. We are salt of the earth but so often stored in the saltshaker: another memorable phrase and graphic image to challenge and encourage. I highly commend this book as it is written with self effacing humour and rich insight as well as helpful and practical advice about a sensitive subject. Like a good wine this book has only improved with age.

'This helped me to see that evangelism is a privilege rather than something you "wouldn't even do to your dog", as Rebecca Manley Pippert puts it so memorably.' - Rico Tice
'A classic, and on a great theme. It introduces one of life's greatest joys: that of turning inconsequential chatter into speaking about Jesus. This is a must-read for all Christians.' - Roger Carswell
