Moments of GraceMelanie Carroll, via The Good Book Stall
Another lovely book of reflections, forty in all on a range of subjects spanning five arcs, so we have Exploration and Discovery, Struggle, Celebration, Gospel Moments, and finally Pondering. Each reflection starts with a poem, then a gentle contemplation follows, based both on the poem and on the issue being reflected upon. These are both short and insightful and questioning, and that's even before you get to the actual questions or activities for that reflection.
On the whole these are short but keen reflections and certainly would fit within anyone's prayer time activity. They would perhaps also form a good basis for a series of studies, or a one-off session for a reflective group.

Joy MacCormick has written this book to help people have a closer encounter with God in prayer, especially those who may struggle to find a place in conventional church worship. She says: 'One of my most powerful motivations in ministry has been, and still is, "seeing the lights come on in people's eyes" as they discover new ways of thinking about and relating to the Holy, and the impact this has on their experience of "life in all its fullness".'
“For those willing to take their time over the questions offered and to pray and journal as suggested by the author, there is much enrichment to be discovered, not simply in the pages of this book, but in the life of the world around.” – Nicola Slee, theologian and poet, based at the Queen's Foundation, Birmingham
“This is a book to be savoured in stillness… A treasure of a book!” – Pat Marsh, writer and retreat leader
