LETTERS TO KATIE continues Kathleen Fuller’s ‘Middlefield Family’ Amish series with references what occurred in the first two books, ‘Treasuring Emma’ and ‘Faithful to Laura’. In this instalment, you’ll enjoy getting to know Katie and her one time childhood sweetheart, Johnny Mullet.
Although Johnnie means to court Katie openly once his ranch is a success, he may have left it too late. Katie is plagued with severe headaches and dizziness which eventually land her in hospital and unable to remember how she got there. Injured and vulnerable she stirs something in Johnny. But is it love or guilt that compels him to spend time with her while she heals.
Soon Johnny’s heart begins to question whether Katie even remembers who he is. As Katherine struggles to recall memories of Johnny, a surprise visitor arrives a man named Isaac who claims they had been writing letters to each other, even considering marriage, before her illness. Now there are two men vying for her attention and their place in Katies unreliable memory.
Katherine feels divided in two with no idea which way to turn. The answer that might restore the unity of her heart and mind may lie behind a mysterious door she never considered opening. Full of detail about the Amish way of life and the strength of a community built on faith and family values, Katie’s story is witness to what happens when people refuse to let God guide their lives and try to do it themselves.

"It is past time for Katie to be married, and most of her friends are already married, but she is in love Johnny, who does not seem to return her love. Then a new young man appears on the scene and Katie wonders if she should accept his attention, but he abruptly leaves town and begins writing to her. Johnny has his own distractions with deciding to buy his own farm without his father's approval and struggles to make his own way and find himself. Then a sudden illness leads them both realize they must make their own decision about the future. Their problems and discontent with life leads both of them on a search for God. There are several other characters and story lines which keep you reading...
"I enjoyed this book and the way several people from outside their community affect their lives. I always enjoy reading about someone's search for God, particularly the prayers and scriptures that leads them to making the right decisions. There are quite a few characters to keep up with which could be confusing - but at the same time thry add interest to the story. I enjoyed seeing how relationships developed and the different ways people come to a decision on moving forward in their life. If you are looking for inspiration and encouragement, give this a read." - Other Retailer's Reader Review.
