Interesting mix of factual guidebook with spiritual interludes at various points. A good introduction for those new to Iona with words which will probably provoke thought and perhaps action: the section on ‘the Nunnery’ is a good historical/spiritual correction [and almost made me cheer!] The inclusion and valuing of the local community is very heartening, as the influx of so many pilgrims must have great impact on their lives. We need to be brought back to remembrance of our locale and those who are part of the everyday life of any place of pilgrimage.
