Opening Up GalatiansAlan Hill, via The Good Book Stall
This easy to understand commentary is an excellent introduction to Paul’s Letter to the Galatians. Pastor Campbell does not set out to provide a detailed analysis of each verse, instead he concentrates on identifying the key teaching and applying that teaching to the Christian life today. The chapters are short and each ends with helpful questions for further study and reflection.
He especially highlights the great Biblical truth that we are saved by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone. The author shows clearly the place of the law of God and the slippery slope of trusting in any kind of works to earn our salvation.
This book also brings to life the people and events that lead to Paul writing this letter showing how what they believe affected their actions.
Maybe never before have there been so many “other Gospels” proclaimed which are not good news at all: maybe never before has the teaching of this vital letter been so necessary.
I heartily recommend this book.
