First Steps to Living with DementiaJackie Rowe, via The Good Book Stall
Dr Simon Atkins is a GP with a special interest in mental health conditions and he writes this short book (less than 100 pages) from that perspective. It is a comprehensive guide to the condition beginning with some helpful definitions, moving through the symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and the help that is available. Dr Atkins writes clearly, providing an accessible, up-to-date overview of the current medical thinking about dementia. I liked the appendices at the end: the first one gives a basic description of the brain and its important structures and functions, and the others list helpful resources. Note that there is no specific Christian content in this book.
