Full Product Description
This volume, based on the 2007 Moore College School of Theology, acknowledges that reading Exodus for all its worth, as a witness to the gospel and as wisdom for Christian living, is an enormous challenge. The book's appeal for today is unmistakable, in terms of its epic scope and moral complexity.
The opening chapter surveys the 'uses, re-uses and misuses' of Exodus in contemporary culture, and exhorts us to feel the book's raw power, by facing squarely its moral challenges and being shaped by its sometimes bewildering theology.
In response, subsequent chapters explore major units of the text and the main theological and ethical issues that they raise. Topics covered are the exodus event itself; its significance in contemporary theologies of liberation; Moses at Sinai; the Law in Exodus; the tabernacle; and how we should preach Exodus.
Exploring Exodus by Brian S Rosner; Paul R Williamson was published by IVP in September 2008 and is our 28027th best seller. The ISBN for Exploring Exodus is 9781844743131.

Exploring ExodusTim Leffler, via The Good Book Stall
For those more accustomed to reading commentaries on books of the Bible this is a welcome change and variation. Exploring Exodus is a thematic collection of essays from a group of authors associated with the Moore Theological College , Sydney Australia.
For most of us the key events of Exodus are very familiar and encrusted with stereotyped recollections influenced by childhood over-simplification and Hollywood miss-representation. Exploring Exodus provides the reader with a welcome and refreshing overview of this highly significant and foundational book of Jewish and Christian scripture. This is intended to augment rather than replace a good commentary on Exodus and includes chapters looking at the contemporary treatments of aspects of the book as well as effective communication of the messages embedded within the text through preaching.
Exploring Exodus will be enlightening to the interested reader as well as an invaluable tool for the Bible teacher and preacher. The breadth of authors ensures a diversity of styles but a cohesive opinion that there is a rich wealth of teaching throughout the whole of this wonderful Bible book that needs to be given greater significance in the wider church.
