One of the most beautiful animations of the Christmas story that I've seen, this is a particularly delightful production thanks to the simplicity of its characters, the sincerity of its voice actors and a sensitive, atmospheric musical score.
Background and mid-ground artwork give an unusually real sense of depth and perspective, while the characters themselves have personalities that leave even the youngest in no doubt of their motivation - good and bad, but without scaring younger or boring older children.
The animated story has simple easy to follow action and dialogue, yet remains faithful and respectful to the gospel accounts in both Matthew and Luke. The charming characters - especially of Joseph and Mary, with their soft, round faces could easily belong from a quality children's TV.
Dialogue and narration are easy to follow for children as young as 3, whilst the colourful landscapes and clever sense of humour will engage your older children. If you have to choose only one Christmas story DVD for your home, school or church under sevens, this is the one.
Make sure you watch the featured video clip opposite and discover this seasonal introduction to a visually delightful series of Children's Bible based DVDs. (oh, yes - and watch out for the rabbits! Though how they get into the Christmas story, I don't know.)

Is there overlap between the Jesus Movie and the Christmas DVD?
What age group are these DVDs for? and do they work on all DVD players?
