Looking at spiritual abuse through the lenses of psychology and theology, this book offers a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Focusing on the theology of grace and freedom, on the redeeming power of the cross, and on the psychological aspects of healing allows the reader to rethink healthy spiritual accompaniment and to delve deeper into supporting victims.
"This careful work masterfully combines theological wisdom and psychological insight to address spiritual abuse while championing authentic spiritual accompaniment. A profoundly healing and hopeful resource for fostering genuine spiritual growth and transformation."
—Giovanni Cucci, SJ, professor of philosophy and psychology. Gregorian University, Rome
"A comprehensive overview of a current and important problem in the Church, providing a highly recommended point of reference for scholars, spiritual guides, and institutions."
