Medieval English Prose for Women studies the Ancrene Wisse. Written in the early thirteenth century the Ancrene Wisse along with the religions works of the `Katherine Group' offer theologians an insight into female outsiders and religious life of this time.
Bella Millett has revised these works in order to introduce these sections to a wider audience, including undergraduates and specialists in other disciplines, such as history, theology, and women's studies.
Medieval English Prose for Women offers an introduction, critical texts, notes and representation of the last two parts of Ancrene Wisse, and three complete works from the Katherine Group, Hali Meithhad, Sawles Warde, and Seinte Margarete.
