    Product Description

"She will gradually waste away. There is no cure."

When her baby daughter Lisa was diagnosed with an incurable muscle-wasting condition, Ana Nolan was devastated. As Lisa grew older, her hearing and eyesight were affected by the disease and she had to change schools a number of times. As Lisa's condition deteriorated even more, Ana – now a single parent Mum – turned to God, asking him to help her.

In Goodnight Lisa, See You In The Morning Ana shares the story of her beautiful little girl and how their lives were forever changed the day Lisa came into the world.

Her moving memoir is both heart-wrenching and heart-warming. As you read you will be encouraged by Ana's honesty, challenged by her strength and faith, and utterly captivated by her little girl, Lisa, whose indomitable spirit and smile shine forever in the pages of this book.

My daughter was disabled! I wanted to scream but no words came out. I collided head-on with the full force of the shock, hopelessness and horror. I was desperately afraid. My soul felt like a punchbag and my insides, black-and-blue. I wanted to run away but my legs wouldn't move. Then the tears came. My stoic façade vanished and any hint of self-control evaporated as I sobbed uncontrollably. I cried until I began to feel empty and the tears slowly began to ebb away. I stood there for a couple of minutes, exhausted and weary beyond measure. I knew that I should return to Lisa. I looked at my watch. I had been locked in there over two hours. My daughter needed her mummy but I had nothing left to give. All that remained was an overwhelming sense of helplessness. There was nothing I could do to save my daughter. I wasn't sure whether God existed or not, but if there was a God then I needed Him right there and then. In weakness and desperation, I whispered, 'God, help me.' Moments later the atmosphere became incredibly still and the toilet cubicle was filled with a tangible presence. Somehow, I knew it was God. It was like arriving home after a storm and being enfolded in a warm duvet in front of a log fire. What I can only describe as divine strength and power filled my soul. It eased my mind and restored my body. I felt completely transformed and filled to the brim with strength, hope and courage. From somewhere deep within, I knew that I was not alone any more. There came a gentle tapping on the toilet door, followed by a warm voice enquiring, 'Are you all right, dear?' Tentatively sliding back the bolt, I opened the door to see who it was. 'I work in the kitchen next door,' said the hospital orderly, her voice tender. 'I could hear you crying through the wall. Would you like me to make you a cup of tea?' I nodded.
