Full Product Description
David gets Rich out of the way by sending him on an assignment abroad, and begins an affair with his wife; but Beth becomes pregnant. When conscientious Rich won't return home, there's only one solution in David's mind. He must see to it that Rich is murdered.
Played against a strong backdrop of good supporting characters (including Beth's sister, Cerys, whose husband has an affair and leaves her), Beth ultimately loses the baby. But David has an epiphany; fasting for the child and the woman he loves, he meets with God as a chastened and changed man. Beth too has her own encounter with God, and throws herself into charitable work. Finally, they come together again, profoundly changed, but deeply committed in love.

ForbiddenMary Bartholomew, via The Good Book Stall
David and Bathsheba’s story in the Bible is the inspiration behind this contemporary story.
A group of university friends have kept in close touch over many years. David, one of their number, has become the Chief Executive of a powerful oil company and the others have joined him in the company as time has gone on.
David has been recently widowed and is grieving deeply, Rich, one of the group has recently married Beth and both are blissfully happy. Nathan and Jenny are happily married with a young and demanding family and watch the story unfold without being able to deflect David from his purpose.
A parallel story is of Beth’s sister Cerys and her problems; tied into the others by her friendship with Jenny.
Although the story has a sense of inevitability, you can’t guess how it is going to pan out and you have to keep reading to the last page.
