Salvation Army Officer to Lead Churches Together in Wales

Captain Kathryn Stowers, who leads The Salvation Army in Newport, has been appointed as the new Chair of Cytûn, Churches Together Wales. This significant role places a key figure from The Salvation Army at the helm of a national body dedicated to uniting Christian churches across Wales.

Cytûn plays a vital role in bringing together diverse Christian traditions to collaborate on pressing issues such as health and poverty, and to champion local charitable initiatives. Captain Stowers, who also serves as the church and charity’s Ecumenical Officer for Wales and as an Ecumenical Canon of Newport Cathedral, will officially take up her position on 23 June.
