Palm Sunday opens Holy Week with a paradox — crowds wave palm branches and shout 'Hosanna!' as Jesus enters Jerusalem, but the same week ends with his crucifixion. Children often receive blessed palm crosses to take home; in the Philippines, families weave elaborate palm decorations.
The Passion story is read in full during the service. Eden lists Easter pilgrimages to Jerusalem where you can walk the Palm Sunday route down the Mount of Olives.
