Dress for the occasion: Spiritual Dress for Success

Our enemy is not flesh and blood, and is no human foe - we fight against a much more fearsome opponent whose forces are described in Ephesians 6:12. Our adversary, Satan the devil, and his host of demons have a single, driving purpose to destroy the children of God. Faced with the cares of this world, we can easily forget about the severity of this battle. But make no mistake: our spiritual lives and future in God's Kingdom are on the line. If we lose this war, we lose everything.

Remember, you need God's armour, not man's, because the arm of the flesh will fail you. God has provided every tool needed to wage good warfare. If you apply the proper armour of God, you will never lose any battle engaged with the enemy. Therefore, as the occasion demands every believer must Dress for the Occasion. As the Roman soldier becomes vulnerable without his armour, so also the believer becomes vulnerable without the written and spoken Word of God.

All believers are called to join battle formation. Joining the battle formation implies that believers are not alone. As the body of Christ our number-one enemy is the devil and not human beings. Nevertheless, the devil has numerous ways and schemes to get to us either through circumstances or often through people. Getting help from other believers or joining our faith together to help us in prayer is very advisable. We are each other's keeper and therefore have the mandate to watch our backs and fight for and not against each other.
