As parents or grandparents, we cannot expect someone else to lead our children to a saving knowledge in Jesus that will ensure that they do not spend eternity in hell. Because our children are a precious gift from God, He has commanded every parent to lead their children to the Savior and in paths of righteousness. Therefore, raising godly children, who honor Christ, demonstrates our appreciation for these precious gifts.
The greatest and most lasting gift we can give to them is to be an example of Godliness by aligning faith into this future bloodline or legacy. The material things we leave our children are temporary; however, our legacy of imprinting His Word into their hearts and being the right Godly examples can make a significant impact on them for a lifetime and the generations that follow- And this is the greatest blessings and joy that will come as we see this come to pass in their lives.
According to surveys carried out, ninety four percent (94%) of all fundamental Christians accepted Jesus as their Savior while they were very young; and sixty five percent (65%) of all Christians were led to the Lord by their parents.
It is therefore most vital and valuable for those of us who are parents or grandparents to read the Bible with our children, starting from a very young with simple Bible stories, and then progressing through the more age-appropriate children's Bibles and studies as they get older.
